Witch Makes News at Loch Ness
A white witch took to the shores of Loch Ness today to cast a blocking spell on a Swedish scientist hoping to catch the Loch Ness Monster.
In what was dubbed the Clash of the Titans – Kevin Carlyon, a high priest in the British Coven of White Witches, tried to scupper the ambitious plans of Jan Sundberg to trap the elusive creature and take DNA samples.
Against the stunning backdrop of Drumnadrochit marina, near Inverness, the two rivals met and exchanged some fiery words.
Mr Carlyon of Hastings, East Sussex cast a special spell over the murky loch in a bid to protect the water and all the creatures within it.
The 42-year-old former wrestler dropped a talisman into the loch in a move he claims will give him the power to protect the waters for life.
But Swedish scientist Mr Sundberg, 53, dubbed the witch’s move “mumbo jumbo” claiming the Englishman was simply getting in the way of his second search for Nessie.
The scientist has co-ordinated a 12-day mission, called Operation Cleansweep to try and track the monster.
His crew, which includes Aberdeen man David Wright, will venture on to the loch twice a day.
Mr Sundberg who is the leader of the Global Underwater Search team, plans to cast a seven-foot net into the water and use a combined multi-beam sonar and acoustic camera in his bid to snare the creature. …
