Think about it for a minute. Do you really know what electricity is? Does anyone?
What is electricity? Electricity is the set of physical phenomena associated with the presence and motion of electric charge.
What is an electric charge? It is the physical property of matter that causes it to experience a force when placed in an electromagnetic field.
What is an electromagnetic field? It is a physical field produced by electrically charged objects.
We don’t really know what the electromagnetic field is. An EM field is an EM field. It just is what it is. It exists because it does. We don’t know the fundamental cause of the EM force or any of the other fundamental forces such as gravity at this time in the year 2018. That said, we have learned a lot and we have changed our world by harnessing EM forces.
