Man arrested after giant chicken stolen

A Milton man has been arrested after a giant (non-edible) chicken was allegedly stolen in Brantford.

The eight-foot-tall fibreglass fowl was pinched from a chicken farm on Brantford Road in Windham Township in Norfolk County sometime late last Thursday or early Friday, the OPP said.

The suspect allegedly made off with the big bird after severing it at the legs. The drumsticks were left behind.

Police say they recovered the missing fowl from the suspect’s home, and hauled it away on a flatbed truck, much to the surprise of gawking neighbours.

It will be reunited with its owner Wednesday morning. Police say charges are pending. …
