If a job requires you swear an oath of loyalty, “without mental reservations,” to the California State Constitution and you do not have religious beliefs, could you swear to support and defend this statement?
If that same job prohibits discrimination in hiring based on religion, which would win, the requirement of the oath or your freedom to hold secular views?
